From the Grayzone: US State Department accusation of China ‘genocide’ relied on data abuse and baseless claims by far-right ideologue

While there are some legitimate criticisms that can be made of the CCP, this article linked from The Grayzone points out that the allegations of genocide are dubious at best. The person responsible for the data used to advance the US claim of genocide has highly questionable motives, and not surprisingly, there is clear evidence that he engaged in data manipulation and outright lies. These falsehoods are being peddled by the US government and its media mouthpieces in a blatant effort to bolster anti-Chinese and anti-communist sentiment. The article linked focuses on just one egregious example.

Perhaps an equally important takeaway is that these methods of manipulation and propaganda are ubiquitous in western political discourse. These tall tales are then spun by “news” outlets to create a narrative that is friendly to the interests of their imperialist masters. In any news media, stories are rarely made up out of thin air, but rather the facts are almost always twisted and then presented in a manner designed to manipulate public opinion. In the case of western mainstream media, that manipulation is always directed towards a pro-capitalist, pro-imperialist agenda.

It is important for communists to be critical of everything that they read or watch in the media, but especially so with stories that advance the interests of empire. –Uziel
