Over the past week, the masses of Myanmar have been crushed by the military dictatorship of Myanmar. Earlier this week, students rose up in Letpadan to march to Yangon in protest of the attacks on education and violations of human rights. The police and military prevented hundreds of students from marching to the capital. The police beat the protesters. They used water cannons. When they protested with a sit-in, the police and military dragged them away to prison. Many of those arrested were women. In addition, two journalists were arrested for reporting the story. Today, workers rose up in solidarity with the students. Hundreds of workers tried to march from their factories to Yangon. They too were stopped by the military. Many were arrested and beaten. Again, more students are protesting the crackdown in ongoing actions.

The first rule of war is to know the enemy. We must always remember who we are fighting. The reality is that the SLORC military still rules with an iron fist. The reality is that not much has changed since 2011. We live under military dictatorship. And the dictatorship works with the First World imperialists to exploit us and ruin our lives. Whenever the masses speak up, we are crushed. This is no way to live. The Leading Lights of Myanmar fully support the actions by the masses against the state. We are human beings. We have the right to a real future. We have the right to a decent life. Those who attack the workers, students, all the people are traitors. Every time they hit us with a baton, every time they throw us in prison, every time they silence us, they prove where their true loyalties are. Our people are bought and sold by the capitalist, imperialist, militarist dictators.

We support the masses in their fight for justice. However, we must remember that real change can only happen through total revolution, through Global People’s War for Leading Light Communism. We are fighting for total liberation, a world of freedom, justice, prosperity, peace, creativity. We fight for a world where we can all be our best selves. We must take control of our own lives. They cannot steal our future from us unless we let them. Our future is our own. We live to fight another day. We will be back.
